Complete Your Summer Financial Check-Up

Can you believe it? The year 2021 is already halfway done. That begs the question: are you financially on track? Doing a quick, mid-year check-in with your budget and financials is a great habit to get into because it can help you accomplish more and make the most of every single day. This mid-year budget check doesn’t have to be an in-depth financial review but should cover some important areas of financial management.

Check your budget.
The summer months are great for checking in with your budget to make sure you’re spending within your goals. Going over budget? Take some time to make adjustments to your spending. Spending under budget? Great! Put in place a savings plan for the extra funds.

Assess your goals.
Whether you’re looking to travel, pay for education or reach any other major milestones, take a few moments to review those goals and see if you’re financially on track to reach them. If not, what changes can you make this summer to be better prepared?

Evaluate your savings.
Everyone should have an emergency savings fund to cover living expenses in an emergency. In fact, if you don’t already have one, building one should be one of your financial priorities, along with eliminating debt. As your lifestyle changes, your savings need to change, too – so it’s important to assess your emergency savings periodically and adjust as needed.

Examine your credit.
Lastly, now’s a good time to check your annual credit reports (visit annualcreditreport.com) to look for any errors or issues you need to correct.

When you’re done, it’s time to look forward to the rest of 2021. What do you want to accomplish? We’re here to help you live your best life, so let us know how we can help. Give us a call at 303.471.7625.
