We Are Pleased to Announce Darius Wise As Our New CEO

Dear Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Darius Wise as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During an exhaustive eight-month search to fill the role Darius was instrumental in leading our organization as President and Interim CEO, and it quickly became clear that he far outshined an incredibly talented pool of candidates.

As a leader of leaders, Darius was thoughtful and diligent in stewarding our credit union not only out of the financial and emotional turmoil of a pandemic, but by leading us through a year-long core conversion to ensure a better experience for our more than 17,000 members. He successfully navigated the hurdles that come with significant leadership changes, and delivered a return to profitability for our member-owned organization in less than a year at the helm.

But what I’m most pleased to tell you about is his character, his compassion, and his purposeful journey. Prior to joining our team in 2019, Darius spent more than 17 years in pastoral ministry and leadership. He held key executive positions with Denver United Church and CrossPurpose, a nonprofit that seeks to help families in the Denver area escape poverty and pursue their dreams. He has served on several not-for-profit boards, including Denver Institute for Faith & Work and Young Life. A visionary leader, serial change agent, and national speaker, Darius is in constant pursuit of lifelong learning opportunities. He received a Certificate for Leadership in an Exponentially Changing World from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, pursued a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Leadership from Denver Seminary, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta.

Darius embodies our organization’s mission to help you realize your hopes, dreams and aspirations. His strategy for 2023 and beyond will deliver speed and simplicity to differentiate your member experience. He will lead his team by empowering a culture of success and fulfillment to attract and retain the very best talent. And he will reignite a focus on making tangible impact within the community we call home.

To say we are excited to have him in the permanent role, well that is an understatement. Please join me in congratulating Darius – and our organization – on this exciting path forward.

Sincerely,
Joeri Carty
